Who We Are
Top8forweightloss is a small editorial team that researches GLP-1 weight loss providers and publishes what we find. The site earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with some of the providers we cover, and that's disclosed on every page where it applies. If a provider falls short, the review says so whether they pay us or not.
How the Research Works
Our reviews start on the provider's own website, and not just the homepage. Pricing pages, FAQs, terms of service, the fine print at the bottom of checkout. When that's not enough, we call the providers directly to fill in the gaps. Several of our reviews include phone-verified pricing that we couldn't find published anywhere on the provider's site.
From there, the questions get more specific. Which pharmacy fills the prescriptions, and is it properly licensed? What kind of clinicians are involved, and can a patient actually reach one when something goes wrong? Do the complaints on Trustpilot line up with what the marketing says? What isn't on the website that probably should be?
Pricing
Pricing in this space is rarely straightforward. A provider might advertise "$179/month" on their homepage, but that's the first-month promotional rate. Ongoing prices can range from $299 to $500+ depending on the provider and medication. Some bundle medication and consultations into one price. Others charge for each separately. Labs, shipping, membership fees, dose escalation costs: these aren't always listed upfront, and we do our best to uncover every associated cost so our reviews reflect what you'd actually pay.
Our reviews always separate first-month pricing from ongoing pricing when they differ. If a price is promotional, the review says so, including expiration dates when available. We do our best to keep pricing accurate across the site, which is why each review page includes the date it was last verified. That said, providers change their pricing frequently and don't always announce it, so we recommend confirming current rates directly with your provider before committing to a program.
Where Our Information Comes From
Our team is not made up of licensed medical professionals, and we don't pretend to be. Our responsibility as editorial journalists is to source information from the most legitimate places available. When fact-checking or producing content, we rely on peer-reviewed studies, clinical trial data, FDA notices, and other verifiable sources. Provider websites are used to confirm what each company actually offers. Patient reviews on platforms like Trustpilot and BBB give us a picture of real experiences, which we weigh alongside everything else.
Health journalism from established outlets is useful for context but isn't treated as primary evidence. And for anything involving the FDA (approval status, shortage declarations, enforcement actions), the language in our content matches the language in the original source. We don't paraphrase FDA determinations in ways that could shift their meaning.
Compounded vs. Brand-Name Medications
Brand-name GLP-1 medications like Wegovy®, Ozempic®, and Zepbound® are FDA-approved and have gone through clinical trials for safety and effectiveness.
Compounded versions have not. They are prepared by state-licensed pharmacies but have not been reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. They are not generics or equivalents of the brand-name products. Our content never describes them as "the same as" or "equivalent to" brand-name medications. Each provider review notes which type is offered and includes the FDA's position on compounded medications.
The Review Process
Nothing goes live after one pass. The research and writing happen first. After that, the whole page gets read again and every claim is checked against current sources. The last read is the finished page experienced the way a reader would see it, making sure someone looking into their options would walk away feeling like they actually learned something useful. Published pages aren't finished either. When pricing changes, a provider updates their offerings, or new information comes out, we go back and update the review to reflect what's current.
What the Evaluation Covers
Each review is our team's attempt to go beyond the marketing language and build a well-rounded understanding of a provider. We look at what they offer, what they don't, and how the real experience compares to what's on their website. We read what actual customers are saying on review platforms and weigh that alongside our own investigation. The result is an honest evaluation written transparently enough that a reader can compare providers and understand the differences without having to do all of that research themselves.
When Things Change
GLP-1 pricing and provider features change frequently and often without notice. When we find something outdated on the site, we verify the current state and update the page. Each page displays a "Last Updated" or "Last Verified" date.
If you find something that looks incorrect or outdated, our contact page is the fastest way to let us know. Please include the specific page and what you think needs updating. Corrections that affect pricing or safety are prioritized.
What This Site Is
Top8forweightloss is a comparison and review site. The team does the research so readers don't have to start from scratch when choosing a provider. This is not a medical practice and nothing on this site should be taken as medical advice. We don't prescribe medications or recommend specific treatments. For medical guidance, talk to a licensed healthcare provider. The goal is to help you understand your options well enough to make your own decision.
